Hej Anki, visst har jag det 🙂 Jag återkommer inom några dagar med länkar, är nu på resa. Ni måste fundera om ni vill ha en husbil med egen dusch och toalett. De är lyxmodeller och bekvämare men nästan dubbelt dyrare. Om ni väljer en enklare modell så ta helst en där man kan stå, 180 cm på insidan. En sådan hade vi i Cairns, se post.
hello, i appreciate being able to ask a question from you. we will be in gran canaria via ship for one day only. my husband and i thought we’d walk around old town (Vuegetta – spelling prob wrong). can you tell us how we would get there by bus? or how much a taxi would cost? or if you think it would be a good place to go? thank you very much!

Thanks for you questions Edie, I added the information you asked on bus and taxi on the post. I think it’s a good idea to visit the old town.
If you have time a good idea might be walking south along Las Canteras beach. You can walk all the way to Las Arenas shopping mall and take a bus or taxi back through the city center. Or you can walk along the shore north of Las Canteras beach and climb to a high hill.

Hello Liisa, we would like to know where can we purchase the tickets for Tram 28. We are both over 65 and wonder if there are reduced rates for the Ticket. Should TKTs be bought at Martin Moniz where we hop on the tram? thank you for your kind help

Hi Paula, you can buy your tickets when entering the tram but a cheaper way is to buy public transport single or day tickets in any metro station where you can also check any possible discounts. Enjoy you tram 28 trip!

I loved your report on Porto de Galinhas! We are thinking of going there for our “main” holiday next year but we have to be quite careful with our daughter, Vicky. (please Google: John and Vicky Silk, to give you a better idea!).
Vicky LOVES swimming but the water must be warm (because of her condition) and she hates rocks and waves in the “swimming” area. Is there a beach that you would recommend? We love snorkelling and so will definitely take the local boats out to the rock pools.

I tried sending a comment on the page about the Sokosti ski tour but it didn’t seem to work so I am trying again…
We are a French couple very fond of Kiilopaa where we went twice, to do some cross country skiing. We are considering going again next year, and we are looking for a first experience of back country skiing with one night in a hut (but as comfortable as possible, where we can manage to get warm without too many difficulties and get water, etc… because we are quite inexperienced).
I looked at the Sokosti tour which seems wonderful but it is too much for us, also I was thinking of a 2 nights tour at most so this one is too long… Would you have any idea about a shorter one (ideally starting from kiilopaa)…? I was thinking maybe for a first experience we could just go to Suomunruoktu, sleep there, and come back to Kiilopaa… is it worth it? is there a way to come back a to Kiilopaa using a different way? Or do something more interesting if we are ready to spend 2 nights in huts?

HI, we are looking to do a similar trip in Australia where we’d like to rent a Campervan to drive from Melbourne to Brisbane in the Feb-March timeframe. Did you have to book campsites in advance? Did you book powered campsites or could you just park somewhere for the night? What company did you rent through as we are looking at the same type of Campervan. Did you have to buy the extra insurance. The prices seem reasonable up until you add the extra $50 a day for insurance. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi Diane, thanks for your questions. We only used campsites and as it was a peak travel season we always booked in advance. As campsite gates often close early and we mostly arrived first after there was a need for communication anyway. If you want to use electric power during your stay you will need a powered site, otherwise you don’t. Without electricity you can cook with gas and the fridge will work and you can use interior lights and charge your phones as long as there’s a battery power, so you can do without a powered site as well.
We took all insurance, a complete package that they offered, even when it was a big money. For us driving a big vehicle on the left hand side was new so we wanted complete protection. We have rented our campervans on sites that compare different providers, like the campervanfinder.com.au website.

We are wondering what stops we could make between Tromsø and Rovaniemi, especially as you’re Finnish, I’d love to hear any reccomendation on which route to take, and what stops to make.
For your knowledge, we’re traveling from Italy, and we’re renting a quite compact motorhome… oh and we’re traveling with a 1 year old and a 3 years old kids 🙂

Hi Gianmaria, That’s definitely going to be a fantastic trip. There are two alternative roads between Rovaniemi and Muonio, between them is the Ylläs area, if you have time go and see that. Take the scenic road around the fell. Then in Muonio there’s the Pallas fell, you can hike with a stroller to a campfire, prepare your meal there and see Lapland birds and reindeer. There’s a parking area for campervans. Then the road follows the riverside all the way to Kilpisjärvi, it’s just beautiful. Sonkamuotka has a riverside camping area to stay overnight and further on is a great wild camping area in a lakeside forest. You’re allowed to camp almost anywhere in Finland and Norway provided there’s a distance to people’s homes and private grounds.
Kilpisjärvi higher up in the fells is a must see place and on the Norwegian side Skibotn that has a fjordside camping area with great views. Between them are the Rovijoki falls, look for the location on Google maps. Between Skibotn and Tromso are the Lyngen Alps with many opportunities and accessible short hikes. If Finland has a lot of mosquitoes, there should be less in Norway as it’s close to the sea. In Tromso take the cable car up to see all the beauty! To find parking, try to arrive early. we need a campervan to travel from queenstown to christchurch via mount cook, franz Joseph for 3 days. we are 4 adults. departure date September 10th 2023. Will a driver accompany us? how much will be the cost?
What a good idea to travel that route in a campervan! Three days sounds good. We don’t rent campervans, so you should contact one of the NZ companies doing that. There’s no driver, you will have to drive!
